How does the GentleLASE laser work? The GentleLASE System removes unwanted hair by emitting a beam of light that is passed through the skin and absorbed by the melanin in the hair follicle. The laser energy then instantly converts to heat, which destroys the hair follicle and prevents future hair growth.

Is GentleLASE permanent? The FDA (Food and Drug Administration) has cleared GentleLASE for permanent hair reduction. This means that once the hair follicle is destroyed, hair will no longer grow from that follicle.

How many treatments will I need? Hair growth cycles are not synchronized, so you will need multiple treatments in order to effectively destroy all hair follicles. The actual number of treatments you need will be determined by your hair density and the area of the body being treated. The average person needs 5 to 6 treatments.

How long do I need to wait between treatments? Generally, we will schedule you 6 to 8 weeks apart for each treatment to take advantage of the maximum absorbability of the laser to destroy actively growing hair.

Are there any adverse side-effects to laser hair removal? In general, most procedures have a low risk of adverse side effects. Some clients experience pigment changes in the skin color. If this occurs the skin will typically return to normal pigmentation over time. All treatment results are individual.

Is my laser hair removal covered by my medical insurance? Most insurance companies do not offer reimbursement for the treatments.
